I like to make hand made books. It is a time consuming thing to do; first you have to created the content and after that putting it all together. But once finished, it is very rewarding!

A constantina book made with printing technique and collage. Also the cover is made with handprinted paper.
A look inside:
Animals of the Sea [Dieren van de zee]
Result of one week experimenting with the letterpress and letter blocks. I used the letter blocks as stamps and created illustrative figures, they all happen to be within a Marine life theme.
Therefore I decided to assemble these images as part of a book. I wanted them to be part of a smooth paced page ritme. Therefore I added colorful printed pages to suggest the ocean backdrop. Printed on Japanese semi-transparant rice-paper I added to each image one dark blue page, one lighter blue and the third last one is a variety of small green printed twigs, to represent seaweed.
You will find not all of these images are very consistent and as well designed as others. It was a spontaneous experimental project during a one week period.
